Ajuy Caves

The Ajuy Caves are located at the base of the cliffs known as Caleta de la Negra, which reach up to 40 meters in height.

Some stairs at the end of the path facilitate access to two of the largest caverns on this cliff.

In the second cave there is an unfinished tunnel at the bottom, through which they wanted to link the Ajuy ravine with the pier to facilitate the loading of the boats.

The cliff is made up of basaltic lava from volcanic eruptions that renewed the profiles of this coast millions of years ago, later cutting them into powerful cliffs thanks to the erosive action of the waves, whose noise as they break against the rocks reverberates in the depths. from the caves they themselves dug into the cliff.
