The Cofete Cemetery is a humble and overwhelming graveyard located on the beach.
It was built at the beginning of the 19th century by the first inhabitants of the area.
It is surrounded by a small wall that the sea sand gradually covers, just like the simple tombs.
It is accessed through an old wooden door with a bolt. To your right there is a block of black stone where the names of all the deceased are registered and where the repetition of a few surnames confirms the enormous inbreeding of the area.
The last burial dates back to 1956.
