Esqueleto de Cachalote

Original skeleton of a male sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) that measures 14.5 meters in length and more than 16,000 kilos.

His body appeared stranded on the coast of El Granillo (Pájara) on December 15, 2004.

It forms part of the Path of the Cetaceans, a project designed by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura that foresees the installation of a dozen skeletons to exhibit them as sculptures of nature in homage to the cetaceans of the Canary Islands, with the clear objective that these natural works integrate close to their natural habitat environment.

The sculpture was officially inaugurated on March 9, 2006.
