The islet of Cofete is a low elevation trachytic platform located on the windward beach, to which it is joined to the island by a narrow isthmus of sand. It has an elongated shape and a flattened roof due to marine action. It is characterized by its gray-green color.
Its origin is due, on the one hand, to the massive contributions of materials produced by the landslides from the back of the beach and, on the other, to the existence of the obstacle that such islet poses to the movement of the waves, which is made up of by a massive material (trachytic intrusion), more resistant to erosion.
